The science of Agroforestry & Syntropic farming

What do you see in this garden box?

A rich cultivation of soil, the nurturing ground where all the nutrients that each plant needs come together. This creates potent blends that promote health and vitality, transforming and nourishing the skin while bringing lasting beauty and balance.

Why do we plant so many different species together?

We cultivate the soil by embracing variety, ensuring it has everything it needs while providing balance for each plant. Instead of relying on just one type of plant that depletes the soil of specific nutrients and depends heavily on human intervention, we create a diverse ecosystem.

This method of cultivation is called Syntropic Farming, which follows the principle of syntropy—the movement of life that generates more life, evolving from simple to complex. All forms of life naturally progress from simplicity to complexity, as seen in the growth of humans, plants, and animals.

How does this principle manifest in our garden?

When we cultivate the soil with multiple plants, they first establish their health and roots. As they grow longer roots, they begin to interact with one another, creating a new level of complexity. No longer isolated, they now coexist and support each other, fostering an environment for other plants, insects, and animals. Together, they strengthen one another and enrich the soil—their very source of life.

In this way, life continues to evolve. More nutrients are gathered, various functions are fulfilled, and a thriving ecosystem takes shape. As biologist Lynn Margulis once said about the purpose of life: “Life wants to grow. For what? To create more life. For what? To create more life and so on.” As biological systems advance, they expand their conditions for thriving and prosperity.

Depending on how we cultivate our plants, we can create a harmonious and enriched process for production instead of a forced one filled with chemicals.

So why do we farm our plants using a syntropic system?

To ensure that each ingredient is rich in its benefits, bringing its true potency and purity to each blend and that life continues to create even more prosperous life.

A system that is also known for planting water…..but we can continue this story another time.
